HSBC Oman has achieved a major environmental milestone with the installation of a solar energy farm at our head office in Muscat. The installation will generate 600 kilowatts of energy from over 220 solar panel grids placed on the bank's premises which will optimise energy costs and reliance on traditionally generated power.

"With this significant sustainability investment, we have become the first bank and one of the first large corporates in the Sultanate of Oman to utilise solar energy on this scale." said Dr.Saud Al Shidhani, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of HSBC Oman.

The project supports Oman's vision for renewable energy, as well as HSBC's climate plan to transition to net zero. HSBC has committed to source 100 per cent of all electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
